People who don't think backstabbing is part of the game have probably never heard of the game "diplomacy".
I feel the makers of this game have drawn some inspiration of that game.

Backstabbing is part of the game
I dont know why some people are being childish and stupid at this but backstabbing is part of the game!!!
why dont people understand this.....everybody gets backstabbed so pls stop being childish
it just makes the game more fun for everyone ... I know it is bad to backstab allies but if ur ally isnt doing any good and worse levelled players are winning on him i think his resource will be better for you
so everyone pls dont be like that why did u backstab me and shit even trust issues our created I know but its part of the game
If you dont wanna get backstabbed and dont want to enjoy then pls join alliance games because even in world war 2 backstabbing has happened

If you dont want to get back stabbed then just play with friends you know. I never have anyone in my alliance that i dont know..Was back stabbed once...I kick his behind but never again...

I feel for you bro! ... I don't personally know anybody in this forum. Ironically, most of my games have been won by coalition with people I just met in that game and formed an alliance after observing the game for a few days. The closest thing to backstabbing by an ally was them going inactive, which has happened a few times.Ralph the Octopus wrote:

I don't consider someone being inactive as backstabbing to me if anything they are harmless compared to the backstabbers. To me backstabbing would be someone spying on me or lying our relation like we are allies but really he/she is planning to do a undeclared war without my team and/or me knowing of what's really going on.gusv wrote:

The best way to avoid backstabbing is to be patient. Donβt join an alliance in the first week or at least the first days. By that time the dust hast settled and you can make a way better decision on who to play with and who to avoid.
If you follow this rule you rarely get backstabbed and you rarely want to backstab your useless allies.
There is an option to share vision with other players without joining an alliance. I make use of that very often. You test out how well you can trust someone. The better a player is in his decision making and the better you are the easier it gets to avoid backstabbing. If you see the win in front of you and your alliance there is no reason for a good player to backstab you and make the game longer then necessary.
In general avoid allies next to your core provinces.
