Banned players can turn inactive at a moment's notice.
Theoretically, they can also send a message but not issue any actual orders, a message also doesn't consitute "activity".
a player sent message me before 8 hours and he is now inactive
did he get ban ?? is it a mistake ?? how it is possible ??

Bumping this a bit in case anyone knows, do decisions made due to High Command also count as "activity"? Like if I queue up a bunch of units to produce, will I still go inactive after 2 days or will the queue extend that timeline? What happens to my queue when AI takes over, does it keep going or do they get canceled?K.Rokossovski wrote:

I figured it counted activity as simply logging in to the game and nothing else. It would seem kind of excessive to update the activity status after every in-game action. Probably have to hear from Freezy or someone like that to know for sure.
That's what I thought too, until learning that messages don't count and that there needs to be some kind of command given. Would be good to know whether auto-commands count.
some time ago a bytro rep stated that an actual command must be issued, not merely logging in.
what an 'actual command' is was not defined.
I think the wording was 'click on something'
which would rule out queued events.
Yeah, queued builds and long marches don't count. You have to actually issue a command to a unit (or a build in a city) to remain active. I don't know about grey areas like espionage and setting diplomacy (RoW etc), but I'm certain that sending messages isn't.
This. Command given or production/construction order given. MAYBE: Update diplomatic relations (not entirely sure).K.Rokossovski wrote:

Writing message doesnt count, just clicking doesnt count. Stuff from the queue starting automatically doesnt count.
Thanks for the confirmation. Do you know what happens to queued builds or units when the switch to AI happens? Will the AI continue to build as set by the player or do those queues get emptied?
Well, I just tested it and did not go offline despite two in-game days of no actions. I logged in, viewed the map, and sent messages. In addition, my queues continued to produce. I didn't send any production or build commands, so something else kept me active.
