The top one is inaccurate. Armored Car and light tank are light armor. Medium Tank and Heavy Tank are Heavy Armor not Light Armor.
Best use for tanks
So I'm playing 1.5 games right now and I noticed that a few different types of tanks specialize in one thing. I don't think this is a good idea.
Here is a chart showing the current tanks, their best use, and the armor class they specialize in.
Here is a chart showing what I think would be better than the one above, where each kind of tank has a different purpose.

I hope the devs will consider this and maybe incorporate it into the game sometime.
Please comment and say if this is a good idea!

And besides, just because a unit does better on defense does not mean it is meant for that purpose.
Heavy tanks are powerful for attacks that I won't deny. However I definitely would use them more as of a defensive or holding a choke point. They simply are too slow on terrain types. Medium tanks are the main tank make up of most of my armies (depending on map, country and doctrine of course)
I think you read the chart wrong, it stats the target the poster thinks they are best against. Not it's own armour class.vietcong2005 wrote:

I agree with that. Heavy tanks are often too slow to be applicable in fast assaults. And same here for medium tanks. good speed and damage. Also with the 1.5 update they have great HP.Tribunate wrote:

Especially if you have the Axis power doctrine >
