ive searched out some answers regarding building bonuses but a few still elude me:
1. does a building bonus apply to the province it resides in or my entire empire? meaning, say i have a BARRACKS in ROME that offers 10% unit production speed. does that 10% speed bonus only apply to units produced in ROME or units i produce anywhere?
2. are building bonuses cumulative? if i have a lvl 1 BARRACKS in ROME (+10% unit production speed) and another lvl1 BARRACKS in NAPLES(+10% unit production speed), do units produced anywhere in my empire have a +20% bonus?
3. do the BARRACKS unit production speed bonuses apply only to INFANTRY units or ARMOR as well? naval? etc

Well,
I don't know it the situation has been updated since the first answer, but I just faced the same questions and I beg to differ.
I just tested activation/deactivation of barracks, and it DOES have an effect on ALL units (I tried this with AT, LT and bomber).
Correct. In fact, activation of a completed barracks accelerates the production of all units except infantry (i.e. conventional infantry, motorized infantry, mechanized infantry and militia), because those units require an activated barracks in order to produce them. An activated barracks is optional for all other units, hence the accelerated production bonus for them.Menoch wrote:

Don't know why you replied to a year old thread, but I guess that is besides the point.Menoch wrote:

What Montana said is correct, except he didn't explain why infantry in particular do not get the 'bonus'. They actually do get the bonus, but it's kinda nullified because you need to have the barracks before you can build the units. In other words, the normal production speed + 25%(bonus of the barracks) is the BASE level of production, as the barracks is required to build infantry units. This is unlike all other units(minus commandos), which do not require a barracks to produce, and therefore their production can start at the nominal 100% production rate. Infantry benefit from the 25% production speed bonus just like all other units(that 25% is why Militia can even be produced at all without a IC, and if normal infantry didn't benefit, infantry would be slower to produce than light tanks.), but to most people, the 25% doesn't 'really' count, in the normal sense. You need it to produce it, so the +25% is more of a virtue of the necessity of the building to make the unit, rather then an optional +25% you can do with all other units.
