Is there any way that France can beat Germany in HWW in a 1v1? IF it really is possible, is it possible if it becomes Britain and France vs Germany HWW 1939?

Germany just has too big of an airforce and too big of an army. But if it's a 1v1 France can probably stop Germany on the Maginot.. with British help, can defeat Germany.
(Just be sheer number of troops, it can be very leveraged on Germany's side. If the Maginot is penetrated Paris is undefended.)
Does anyone know the starting units for each nation in HWW?

I'll say, with proper playing style you as France, with or without the aid of the UK can deafeat Germany by defending with artillery along the border until their defense collapses.Zaktty wrote:

Not only can it, but I've seen it done.
In that specific incident (a couple of months ago) Germany had invaded Poland on Day One (as usual). However France chose to take the offensive and attack him with his back turned, eventually occupying most of German territory in a two-front war.
So yes, it is possible and has precedent, but requires extremely convenient circumstance. Of course, Germany has every advantage in airpower and (perhaps unrealistically) armour, but this does not guarantee victory.
In the hands of players with great skill disparity anything is possible.

If both players are equally competent, no. Germany will always solo Fr*nce.

Nope. With equal skill and no outside help, Fr*nce is doomed. Germany has too much air (armour can prolly be countered with AT spam tho, but a coin flip as to whether it can reach the Maginot in time). If Britain helps, then Fr*nce will probably be conquered but Germany will eventually die and France reconquered (at what cost tho?)Zaktty wrote:

If Britain helps it becomes a lot more likely.
Germany might be able to hold Fr*nce and Sealion if they spam enough NBs and use their own ships effectively. Get into melee range with the incoming ships from Scapa Flow, then use NBs to finish the 2 separate stacks in the Channel (they can't merge, since then not enough range to defend both sides of the Channel from naval invasion).Carking the 6th wrote:

My Germany strat is to invade France. Combine the Navy together, destroy the British navy, Bomb Britain and invade.
