Can troops hide in subs?

i would like to know if you can hide troops in submarines to sneak past enemy defenses. If so, is there a limit to what troops you can hide? I know that putting artillery in subs will cause them to be seen.

if you want to protect your convoy ships

1- research higher level convoy ships so they will have more hp

2- add cheap units to your main convoy like flying bombs or militia , when enemy attacked your convoy , enemy damage will spread between units

3- add cruisers to your convoys so cruisers will protect your convoys against naval bombers

4- you can add aircraft carriers which have interceptors and naval bombers to your convoys

5- add high level destroyer to your convoy so he will show you enemy submarines which are travelling around
