Being a Floridian I know two things, Criminals and my State Flag. So it came as quite a surprise to me when I started playing CoW and choose the South US in Clash of Nations, that instead of being greated by the Virginia Battle flag so synonymous with the South I was instead greeted by the the Banner bearing the Red Saltire I pledged my Heard and Soul too.
While I really like it, my only question is why? Out of all the state Flags was Florida's chosen? Was it at random or is there a reason?
I'm not on a CoN map at the moment, but it may have something to do with the fact the whole of Florida as a state is visible on the map.
However my lack of geography in the case of the U.S, I can't tell if any other states are fully on the map, or take up as large an area.
In the hypothetical CoW universe one may see things that look familiar but be somewhat different than what our history has recorded; as is evident by there *being* the country of the Southern U.S.A.; which indicates either the U.S. Civil War had a different outcome or some other event led to there being a So.U.S. in the CoW universe. Therefore, one probably shouldn't always expect things to be a certain way.

I never really understood why people consider the Virginia Battle Flag "Offensive" It's about as offensive as the Stars and Stripes and the Union Jack.
Well, they were fighting for slavery.
And before that the US was committing mass murder against Native Americans and the British were putting Indians in Concentration Camps. Than again these nations were always on the winning side and History is Written by the Victors.

Political "correctness" is everything nowadays especially if you have products in different parts of the world, I'm sure that if this game catches on there will be plenty of modders doing what they do best.
