I'd gain the points and if at the end of the day you have enough, just fold the coalition.

Coalition or Solo win?
By end of day I'll be 580 points & about 50 from a solo win.
Other players in the coalition are 150 & 110. I've warned them they need to get some points on the board already.
Should I fold the coalition & take the solo win or stick it out with the coalition?
One other player left on 180. They've fought hard and IMO deserve a bit of a reward....

They can get second and third place rewards. Second place rewards the same amount of gold for a coalition win anyway, but they don't get a win added to their stats.
Plus, if someone can get a solo win, then they clearly don't deserve a coalition win anyway, not having done enough to prevent that from happening.

I would do it for the coalition. However, I encourage you to make your own decision.

Well I gave them an Ultimatum & set target for 200 points.
France got his points by cleaning up countries that I'd already crippled. Sweden was fighting a PVP so was being contained.
Finished the game today with a Solo win & they only had 170 & 150 points respectively.
My first 1.5 game coming back after a while. Some interesting changes & the economics & production model has totally been reworked. Much more action going on as well.
