Confused

The more I play this game, the more confused I become. Can somebody please explain to me how it is that some players start a round with more troops, tanks etc then others? I have started 2 different games in the past 4 days and right off the bat, I get massacred by a level 1 player who has twice as many units as I have. If we both started the game at the same time and in some cases, I started a few hours before, how do they have more units? This last game I started, some dude moved in and attacked me on 3 different fronts before I could even position my troops to defend a possible attack. It's pretty sad when someone in enemy territory can reach some of your provinces before you can? I hear people complain about others who quit the games too early. Not me, I'll stay and make it living hell until you kill me off. However, i can see why people would quit early. The game is suppose to be about strategy. Well, if the playing field is not level to start a game, strategy is eliminated from the game right from the start.

You could be in a Blitzkreig map??

Some players will do that. Especially on the bigger maps, they will send everyone of their units at you right from the start of the game. If they have team mates in the game it will even be worse cause you might be able to give one country a fight but when two send all at the beginning you are SOL without the use of gold to help defend. On the smaller maps you should be able to hold off on one country trying to blitz you. It's advisable to have at least one friend to team up with when joining the bigger maps so that someone can help get your back if you get blitzed.

You have to make a quick assessment of who is around you and the paths they they can use to get to you. Sometimes you will be able to hold them off and sometimes you wont, that's the game. You'll get better at it as you keep playing, don't get discouraged.

When a player first starts a round they get an extra medium tank, and they probably don't understand the value of gold. That could be it.

Very likely they could be using gold, the best way to combat that is to team up with other nations near by and kill them off.

If you don't see any signs of gold use (extra IC's being built, etc) you can also report the player for a suspected multi. From there, a staff member of the Game Operators can review the ticket and conclude proper action.

Free Time looks good on me

Thx for all the help guys. I don't think I'm in a blitz game. I assessed my situation when I first joined. This guy who attacked me hadn't even joined the game yet. I immediately moved my troops to my borders, however my troops were further away than his were. I guess he joined after i logged off and immediately attacked. I was just shocked at how quickly he was to assemble 5 units in 3 different spots and attack before I could even get my troops to the border cities. Especially since I started before them. Anyway, thx for all the help.
