Cost of Unit Upgrades

I get why it would be more expensive to produce units then upgrade rather than upgrade and then produce but I feel it is too expensive when it would make sense if it was cheaper as for units like infantry it essentially just extra training and new weapons, the only reason why it shouldnt even be cheaper is because that would allow players to spam lower level units as fast as possible.

which i'm now realising isn’t really an issue as in 1.0 you didn’t even have to upgrade, i don’t like this new feature  :/ :wallbash :cursing:

But units like infantry don’t cost a lot to upgrade. Plus this feature makes everything more realistic.

The initial cost represents training, setting up logistical and command structures, and equipment. Upgrading represents replacing some equipment and a little re-training. Don't upgrade every single level if it's too expensive for you; only upgrade from level 1 to level 3, or level 2 to level 5 or something like that.

yeah, fair enough

Also don't get too hang up on historical accuracy. Yes, the historical context should definitely be there (and it is) but at the end of the day it's a game that needs to be balanced and fun above all else (at least in my opinion), which is given by the upgrading feature I would say. They even made upgrading cheaper two patches ago.

but anyway a nice tip would be: please don’t even bother to upgrade anything at the start of the game or within 5 game days, you will just run low on manpower
