When your army is defeated it will say your army unit B35 was defeated by XJ32 as an example.
What country is XJ?
Looking in the Newspaper is laborious and I suspect each map has separate country codes so what I am asking is what are the country codes for each map. Or where can I find that.
If you are a large state it can be a PIA trying to find out what you have lost what where.

They must exist as each army is alocated one ! All 'forces' belonging to the same country have the same prefix.

It probably does, but if so, we don't know about it. That's something that would be helpful though, so I'll dig around some more.
I suspect they are map specific. They appear in the newspaper and front reports.
