Damage Potential
at army info section , does terrain bonus + home defence bonus adding to damage potential ??

The "damage potential" reported in the "army info" tab should reflect all bonuses, HP, and stack size. In other words, it's the final damage potentials +/- 20% that would be dealt, not including potential defense bonuses of targets.
Indeed.
Additionally the damage is also dependend on the enemy army composition, so if they have 5 unarmored units and 5 heavy armored units for example, then only 50% of both damage values will be used.
To expound on what freezy means in case it isn't clear to anyone. Imagine you have a stack whose "army info" says it has 100 damage potential vs light armour (larm). Then in freezy's example of an attack target of half light/half heavy army (harm) the damage dealt to the light armour units would be 100/2 = 50. To complicate things further, if there was another enemy stack of 10 infantry within 5km of the 5 larm/5 harm stack then the damage to the light armour units would be halved again: 100 / 2 / 2 = 25. This is a simple example because the within stack composition is 50/50 and the composition between stacks is 50/50. However, in general, these proportions won't be 50/50, but the resulting within stack and between stack proportions will still be used to adjust the attack potentials.freezy wrote:

Good posts. If there's anyone reading this whose eyes have glossed over with all this math I highly, highly encourage you to read about damage potential and how it changes based on your opponent's stack's mix of unit types. It's absolutely essential to be able to ballpark damage on the fly to make fight-or-flight-or-reinforce decisions while you play.
