Dead leader?

The leader of our coalition basically gave up when he was invaded and he is about to lose - what happens when the coalition leader goes out?

as far as i know, once he goes inactive leadership will get transfered to someone else automatically, but im not sure about that, alternatively he can transfer it.

Correct it will automatically transfer to another player but how it chooses which one I'm not sure of.
