Defence Bonus

How do I calculate Defenses of my opponent? Like they have a Home Defense of 15%. What does 15% mean?

This can get confusing as the same words can mean different things here.

The 15% is a "home defense" or "core" bonus, and that does 2 things:

1) The Strength of their attack or defensive fire is increased by 15%. So if the unit would defend with 1.0 hit points, it will actually do 1.15 hit points.

2) Attacks done to them will be reduced by 15%. So if the enemy attacks with a strength of 1.0, the actual value will be .85 hit points.

This also works if the unit in the core is doing the attacking (only if you own the core province) so it is not only a "defense" bonus.

are you sure that units on their home province do with 15% higher damage to the opponenet?

I think home defense means only lower received damage as described in point b)

@szinisa, look on power rating of unit on own soil (core) and on foreigner one.
