Deleted Messages

If you delete messages from your message log,

when the enemy spies on intelligence to get messages will they get them?

In short, is there a separate place where all messages are kept to be spied on?

Deleting messages from your end is only your own copy.

Assume that spies intercepted the message before it was delivered to you and made a copy, and then some of these messages that they copied will be given to their employer.

Since spies do their thing at day change, if the sender deletes the message immediately upon sending, and the recipient is on, reads and deletes it right away, assuming it is before day change (and no gold is used to get immediate info), would spies then be unable to intercept said message?

No, BarkingHand.

It's not that the spy is stealing the message from the sender or stealing the message from the receiver, but is stealing the message while it is en route from the sender to the receiver.

Since it happens this way, it doesn't matter when the message gets deleted.

Even if the messages are sent and deleted before the spies are deployed? So the game basically keeps a record of your messages for the whole day, even if both parties delete immediately?

Yes, when you send it... its in the database. Deleting is just a filter, filtering off what you don't want to see

The spies intercept the messages at the time they are sent.

Spies do not hand over their reports until day change when you pay them. No pay, no report. Spies may have issues trusting other people. ;)

There are ways to send messages that people can intercept but they can not get all intel. Yuo can use some programs out of COW, you can use alliance chat or you can send message in parts and if someone intercepts he can not read whole message and he can not get a full clue of it. For example>

I will

attack

North

India

in few

days

Recipient can see all 6 of them and if some of them are intercepted, one who intercepted them will not have a clue what are you talking about.

"Then, when you run out of ammunition and the enemy continues to advance - to the bayonet, when they break your knife - to your hands, when they break both of your hands - to your teeth, when you get the last tooth knocked out, as long as you move, as long you are there - attack! When they mortally wound you, see to it that you fall in their way, so they have to go around you, jump over you or move you - bother them even in death!" speech of lieutenant Tasic before battle of Cer 1914.

The secretaries of all the other countries are in my pay and they copy incoming messages and forward them to me

IIRC, spies can't intercept Coalition messages. Can only spy on countries.

Hm... they get messages that you send. No matter where you send them. Never tested the theory though.
