I am playing my first games and trying to focus on naval. What are the different types of naval stacks, their purposes, composition, and potential weakness. How should I use them correctly and what are some begginer mistakes?
Also, on a side note, what stacks can be used to push a land attack and its weaknesses etc,
thanks.

First piece of advice is to assess whether you actually need a navy at all. Naval units can't capture land and can only hit enemies close to the coast, so their value is limited compared to land units. There are many games where a navy is just a waste of resources, resources that would have been better spent building a larger land army. On the small Europe maps, for example, most countries will never need a single naval unit.
If you kinda need a navy but not really, start with subs and naval bombers. That's enough to defend your coast and scout a little.
If you truly need some surface units, don't do what most new players do and build pure battleship stacks. Battleships are easily defeated with subs and naval bombers, so you need to protect them with destroyers and cruisers. Many players skip battleships altogether and focus on cruisers with a little destroyer support.

This link can help you get an easy understanding of troop comp's
It is constantly being updated to keep up with updates and possibilities.
I usually build a massive amount of subs and then start adding battleships. Unless someone has went ape shit on building destroyers the subs can handle about any naval threat. Just got to avoid naval bombers, but since you have subs stealthing around everywhere you kind of know where everything is. I make battleships because they are fun and sometimes useful.

it says nothing what one has what in one game..... won allready games without building more as 17 units but its still not bad to have more as 17 new units....(I hope and think we agree on that) ....submarines are a pretty decent solo naval-ship unit if you have the axe doctrin... you can't have all units at high/max. lvl ......I self like more to have just submarines as axe so I have also high other stuff ( for me I have often interceptors and aa/spaa pretty high...idia behind that: planes are fast, so hard to avoid if enemy wants to attack your units with it...thats my idia behind it...everyone has its own ideas)).... every unit has at least 1 counter unit / counter strategy...but you need pretty much focusing units otherwise it can be that you are not able to win against anyone who focused stuff..... ( max. lvl submarine wins easy against lvl 1 destroyer...look again and again at the unit discriptions/informations)...you can't be at everything good acept weaknesses (for example that your stack is slow or whatever) (but you should know your weakness and not get surprised by enemy building counter unit....)... thats what I think...even every stack has weaknesses and can be defeated by a cheaper other stack (which has probably stronger weaknesses to a other stack)....often its like paper, rock, scissors or however this game is called.....use your units where they are good (btw. I self think DxC knows pretty well the game).....thats all just my opinion....

I'd say 80 destroyers counts as "ape shit".

I would also count your Subs as "ape shit" at that point.

Oh it has been a few games since I built my last sub. I'm usually surface fleet these days.

I only make Subs if my enemy is not making Destroyers or if they send un-protected convoys across long dianstances
