Think about it, soldiers driving the convoy, and you attacking, will probably pick up a pistol from the waist and defend your attack. So it is possible to take damage!

Do Airplane convoys have defensive damage
If i attack an airplane convoy (because i destroyed the airbase) why do i receive damage when i send troops do destroy the convoy, shouldn't an airplane that is in a convoy not be able to deal any damage whether offensive or defensive

Therehas been a new update so so aircraft carriers can do more damage.

Just because the planes are loaded on trucks doesn’t mean they are out of ammunition. 
In the combat code all units have a slight amount of damage against all other units for two reasons. First combat is a set of calculations and including zeros produces errors instead of results. Second without some damage potential there could be many cases where units could become locked in combat permanently as neither side could damage the other.

Naval convoys are different from aircraft convoys. You can check their stats on the transport research in the research tab. They actually get slightly stronger each level.NoobNoobTrain wrote:

A different kind of transporters; it's like if OP asked whether heavy tanks can outrun infantry and you gave an example of light tanks outrunning infantry. Yeah, they are both transporters/tanks, but different kinds with different characteristics.

I agree that naval convoys are related, but different. I think the question is there because airplane truck convoys have no stats, whereas naval convoys have clear defence values listed under their unit information. So in the future, if something similar can be added for truck convoys, then I imagine there would be no confusion whatsoever regarding whether or not they can do damage in return.

But there's no confusion if they do or not. They do.
I once had 5 airplanes cought on the ground by a scout car, but they defeated it. It probably didn't have full health, but anyway.

If that helps anyone, in CoW 1.5 Airplane trucks deal 0.5 damage against all targets and have 10 hitpoints.
