Does taking out nuke bomber set off nuke?

Hi

I thought the best response to catching an enemy's nuke bomber on the ground was to attack it.

Which I did - with tac bombers.

I didn't expect the outcome, which was that everything in the city (my tanks, opponents tanks, my aircraft, opponents aircraft) destroyed when my tac bombers hit the nuke bomber.

The one thing that was not destroyed? The nuke bomber! (although its now showing as an aircraft convoy)

Is this meant to happen? Doesn't seem to be the intuitive outcome.

you have probably been nuke rocketed, Either that or it is a bug. What you stated should not have happened.

That is indeed quite odd.

That's very strange, if I get the time to experiment with it I certainly will. I suspect that might have to do with nuke dealing offensive damage as defensive damage, but it should not happen as it does not have defensive values
