Easy question for veterans #2

Not sure how to explain this one.

What an opponent see when I have planes in patrol in his zone where he can see there is a unit but can't identify it.

Does he see nothing?

Does it show a unit but moving? or not moving?

Or something else?

I hope it's clear, sorry english is my 2nd language.

I am not sure I know what you are asking, but this may help.

There are two levels of seeing with a ground unit. Forum attachment

In this case my armored car can see the 11th militia clearly, but there is a moving unit called 41st infantry that we can see moving and know it's direction and arrival time, but not any identifying factors.

Those two groups of planes I also see because I have a unit there to see them.

But in this next case my spies told me there were units at this province. A motorized infantry with a couple planes patrolling overhead. Since I do not have a unit on the border I do not see them.

does that answer your question a bit?

Mac, it often helps to post a screenshot to help describe situations like this.

And in case this is what you meant:

I do not have any units in this province to see what is there now, but Bolovia's bombers are patrolling just a bit into visible territory, so I am able to see the bombers.

Thanks to DxC for catching my error.

Are you sure there isn't another reason you can see that plane, like an AC around? I didn't think empty ground could spot a plane unless it's center point was over the territory. In other words, I though you could hand nearly half the patrol circle into the enemy prov without being seen, unless there was something else that could spot it.

I did have an armored car in the next province to the right. It think it was out of visual range, but it may not have been.was not

Thanks VorlonFCW.

My question is if you replace the 41st infantry in your screenshot by a plane. What do you see?

With planes you either see them or you do not, there is no "placeholder' unit moving around.

I have two screenshots here: For the second one I moved the armored car just 4 minutes down the road.
