Eliminated player still has units?

In a previous patch the mechanisms of removing the forces of eliminated players was introduced AFAIR.

However, in my current game, a player that had 0 provinces after day change still has stacks of units hanging around.

So is there more to this rule? Was it perhaps removed again? Or what gives?

I think it makes sense to remove units of eliminated players so ppl can't just put everything into one stack of doom before they leave the game. I've seen this done with lots of RRGs and fort level 3 a few times. It's really annoying and does nothing good for the game.

There most probably is still a province left maybe a small island.

If not, put in a support ticket so we can check.

But can you please explain the mechanism?

Is it once all provinces are lost? Or when all cities are lost?

When an active human player loses all provinces they can still use their army as long as they can keep them alive. The only time their units disappear is AFTER they go inactive.

If the player is an AI then their units will disappear at next day change.

Woops it sounds like it was updated and I missed it. My answer is wrong then.

Usually giving the wrong answer gets the correct answer more quickly than just asking the question : )

When a player loses all provinces, their units are removed from the map and their game is over.

That's not the case though.

This player was inactive (red) and had no provinces. His nation was not even on the players list.

I don't think this works as intended.

Then you need to make a support ticket so we can check the map because if a nation has no provinces ,they do not appear on the diplomacy list.

The way it should be is as long as player has resources for sustainment of units they continue to exist. You could have gobs of troops anywhere perhaps even on right-of-way. It would be possible sometimes to retake a province. Did all Frenchmen and Poles throw in the towel once their country was overrun in WW2? They went to England then returned to fight. They got resources from host country because they were formal allies. With right-of-way only leftover resources would keep them going.

This is the way it used to be, but even then ,they did not show on diplomacy list and there was no penalty for being at war with them.

Maybe having homeless units was removed because players didn't like having to chase these units all over the map.

That was one of the best game changes that they made this year :)
