Extending Range on Railroad Guns

So I'm in a fight with someone and we both have railroad guns, except his guns seem to have about a 15% greater range. How does one get a greater range on railroad guns?

It's not possible to have better range on railroad guns.

Nevermind... he's actually in range, but I can't see where he's shooting from and thought it was further away than it really is. My bad.

Railroad guns need spotters if you are going to manually target them. Either 1) a sub in a coastal province when working a coast line; 2) An AC unit out front or 3) An Interceptor or other air unit to scout targets in advance.

Yes, but armored cars have a longer (larger) sight range.
