Failure to join game

Anyone able to help me. 2 days running have joined The English Channel game (yesterday 2213111, today 2213782) - one free playing space - on both occasions I am offered start screen - pick your country or alliance. Shows UK and Germany. Only option available at bottom is "skip and choose randomly" I click on this and error message comes up "Sorry all countries in game xxxx have been taken - please select a different round to play". First time I presumed someone else had joined at the same time as I had - however clicking on the (i) button on the game actually lists me as one of the players!! So I have joined the game but cannot actually play it - it appears it doesn't let me play because I am already playing.

Yesterday I then got a message saying I was "removed from game 2213111" because of inactivity due to the fact that I did not log in within an hour. I presume I will get another of these today, due to failure to log on to game 2213782.

Please suggest a solution - I have exited game and relogged on with no success
