Short answer is that you need to be building 8 to 15 infrastructure or industrial complexes a day on food production provinces by late game to keep up.
i am playing a 100 players map, i am in war with 4 inactive players, i dont have big army. my food consumption by the people is greater from the food production.
1)Why is that happening????
2)How i can get out of the loop of self destruction? what is the solution to that problem?
Sorry if this question already excist but i tried to search the forum for that specific problem and i found nothing..

thanks bro. i ll try that..!
@iliasgeorge: The thread to which Vorlon linked is mostly a discussion of food problems on the larger maps, but Vorlon's portion of the thread includes the correct and relatively simple priority order for the improvement of food-producing provinces:
1. double-food core province (if any);
2. all other food-producing core provinces;
3. double-food captured provinces (if any); and
4. all other food-producing captured provinces.
Here's another link to a thread which discusses in some detail the order of the improvements to be built in order to maximize resource production as quickly and efficiently as possible:

If you have any other questions regarding resource production, just ask. Cheers and good luck.
I usually disable any barracks that I am not using.

Which is the correct thing to do if you do not require the additional manpower production.Mythical_Commander wrote:

I have a question for you guys
With Barracks, how much does unit production increase by? It says Barracks lvl 1 increases it by 25%, and Barracks lvl 3 is also at 25%
Yes, with an activated barracks (of any level) production time for units is supposed to be decreased by 25%. In my personal experience, however, the production time reduction seems to decline as a percentage as the level of the accompanying industrial complex increases. It appears that the unit production time savings is approximately 25% for an L1 industrial complex, but the production time saving from the barracks declines, is offset, or is subsumed by the production time savings from L2, L3, L4 or L5 industrial complexes. There's probably a mathematical formula that explains this, but I have not been able to extrapolate the equation.SuggestedSuggest wrote:

Formula is pretty simple. Time(production time displayed in research tab or with a single level 1 industrial complex)/%(in standard form, not actual %, so for 200%, it is 2, for 150%, 1.5, etc).MontanaBB wrote:

...where percentages gained by barracks and industrial complexes are added up BEFORE being applied in this equasion. So yes, the relative importance of L1 barracks decreases as IC level rises.NovaTopaz wrote:
