In the newspaper under Game Info it shows the VP and percentage needed for a single player to win. In addition, if there are 3 or fewer actives left in the game and they agree to click the retire option in the newspaper the game will end. In all cases I think anyone active will get a small amount of gold for their VP and the top 3-5 will get some bonus gold depending on game. See Oh, Sweet Victory - Higher Winning Rewards! for more info.
For the win!
Been a few weeks, still a screaming newbie.
I am seeing experienced players retiring, after establishing an empire. I have seen them eliminate people who were active and not a threat. Read some things like that top three players at the end of a round get some gold.
Not sure how a round ends (certain percentage of victory points?)
Can someone point me to a document that explains all this? I haven't managed to find it yet for myself. Or give me and every other newby a brief explanation?

For most maps an individual needs 2/3rds of the victory points available in order to win. That is displayed in the newspaper under the game info tab.Cwalen wrote:

Coalitions will soon have their own rules for winning.
Rewards are outlined here:Cwalen wrote:

A lot of people give up when facing a stronger enemy, rather than battle it out. It is always easier to eliminate the weaker opponent. Wise players choose to eliminate the stronger opponent first.Cwalen wrote:
