Yes, there are events that offer x4 (I think), x6 and x10 speed.

thank you, what are the 6x and 10x events called and how often do they occur?

They are events, meaning they are in a long cycle of scenarios. Each will appear about once per month. You can see that the current event is "Arms Race". Basically, just be patient for a bit and it will appear. But also, you have to remember, especially for the 6 and 10x ones that they are REALLY difficult. You have to log on every few hours. By sleeping for 6 hours, you are missing 60 in-game hours. That's a lot, and more than enough time for someone to completely wipe you out in 1 night. Overall, hard, but good luck!

Yeah I get that, I'm on vacation this week :)

So only one event is released at a time, is that what you are saying?

Basically, yes. Rotated scenarios are available all the week, changing each week; events are available every weekend (starting from Friday), changing every week.

thank you

Is there a certain time when new events "pop" ?

I've never taken an exact note of when they are available but doing some Maths, this came out.

Something tells me I could be wrong, however :S

Yes, one at a time, and unlike the scenario rotation, there is a brief time during which, there are no active events. This is the case at the time of writing this post. While there is no active event, you can see the upcoming event.
