I find them useful when I want something heavy.
You can just roll them with an infantry stack and an AA from point A to point B.

Heavy tenks. Are they useful?
I usually don't produce heavy tenks. That because I don't have time or I don't need them. Now I want to try them. Any suggestions?

I find them too slow and expensive. Plus I rarely have units engage in melee. From a purely defensive perspective, tank destroyers are better.
Yes, they have no AA value on their own and need support their as well. Plus they have little value against unarmored units, so pairing them with infantry would also be essential.

when i get to level 5 on tank destroyers i start research on heavy tanks to level three and pair them up with AA and artillery or rail guns. they take alot of hits and like them for defense
