Holding grudges and refusing diplomacy

I have a question in mind in your playstyle in diplomacy. Sometimes we will always meet skillful players and become enemies with them. If you happen to find a very skillful one, which you may use in your alliance to win the game. Are you willing to join hands, compromise with them and cease hostilities? Or would you hold grudge and will invest every troops, resources and everything you have just to defeat him?

If so what are your conditions?

"The supreme art of war is to subdue the enemy without fighting."
- Sun Tzu
"Diplomacy works with leverage!"
-Krieg Maker
"We can wage an attrition war forever with no goal, if one is found otherwise!"
-Krieg Maker
"The difference between flirting and diplomacy is that the former requires flattery, the latter requires assurance. Be sure to be in the position of power when trying to win through diplomacy!"

Iโ€™m a very chill player and I would be fine accepting an enemy as long as he/she is respectful and willing to listen to advice.

No.

This might be a bit dramatic, but if we clashed armies in the past, we're not shaking hands in the future.

I agree with this view. I have done this in many of my games.
