How about making the commandos paratroopers?

They did do that job in WW2.

It would be useful to use them as a disposable meatshield you can throw at the enemy behind his lines but other than that I fail to see any produced Para unit being used more than once and surviving. Marines might be a good addition but I see people calling them swimming militia and saying they are terrible *Cough* fatman *cough*

I don't know, if paras are bad then marines must be bad too. They aren't that different, just regular inf taught to attack from the air or sea.

No, Marines are first class troops. Check out the entire Pacific theater and the siege of Odessa(I believe that was Russian marines).

Any battle in the Crimean peninsula involved Russian Marines, but yes they were good troops. I still maintain they'd be as useful as Paras though.

lol, yeah. Same as paras, only different use. The only real elite forces in WW2 were the SAS. Marines and paras were normal infantry, only better equipped and with extra training.

I think Marines wouldn't work because unless they landed with their vehicles and heavy kit they were almost easily defeated. But idk maybe they might be good.
