how do I invite someone to an alliance

so Im trying to get my friend to join my alliance, but it wont let him look it up, It there an incvite option and if so where do I find it.

edit: anyone?

If you search for his name in ranking, there is a possibility that he is not displayed, because he's either last on the previous page, or first on the next one. It's a old GUI bug. Check previous and next page for him, and let me know if it helped
