How do I properly stack units and how do I coordinate air unit attack with the ground units?

I'm very newbie, ground units seem to stack when I rest them on the same spot for a bit. I got my first plane, when do I set the plane for attack at the same time the ground units hit? Do I just patrol then attack after the ground

units hit?

Yes, ground units will automatically combine if placed in the same spot. You can split them up again at any time. Select the group and use the split command.

To coordinate air and ground units, command the ground to attack. At the bottom of the screen (in the pop up box) you will see an approximate time to target. Launch your air units and then use the delay command and slide the delay time to hit at the time you want.
