How do paratroopers work?

I find it quite useless since I don't know how to make them even hop in a plane, and I've been playing call of war for over 2-3 years now. Can somebody make a video about, it or explain it clearly, please? Or does anybody even use paratroopers?

I always got annoyed when he said that, but to be honest he’s kinda right if you think about it

When you have researched Paratroopers, you can choose to build them in plane mode or ground mode.

If you build them in ground mode, you can use them to fight and capture provinces like any other ground unit.

If you build them in plane mode, you can ferry them around with airstrips. To attack, order the unit to attack any unit or province center within range. The paratroopers will fly toward the target. Once they land, they have to wait a certain "mobilization time" (which can vary depending on the doctrine and level of paratroopers), during which they can only defend. After that, they will have turned into the ground mode and can attack units and capture provinces.

Note: If the city you build the (plane mode) paratroopers in doesn't have a functional Air Base, the unit will be produced as a Transport Truck, and you must drive it to a functional Air Base.

Ground mode Paratroopers can also be turned into Plane mode Paratroopers, if they are stationed at an airfield, and they have to wait the "mobilization time".

Some players like the idea of using Plane mode Paratroopers as a method of surprise attack; dropping in (pun intended) on the enemy's province when they least expect it.

Others like to produce Ground mode Paratroopers and use them in their stacks, with no intention of converting them to Plane mode.

Your Mileage May Vary.

I understand it thanks!

But may I ask, what is "Plane mode?"

Plane mode is when they take the form of an airplane, flying in the air and using airports to get around. You can’t Patrol with the though.

Thanks for replying! One more question, how do you get it to get to plane mode? Do you get it buy researching, building, or does it automatically do it when your in a airport?

You can build them in either Plane mode or Ground mode, or you can convert already-made Ground mode Paratroopers to Plane mode if they are at an Airstrip.

Mr. Brandon Dilla explained it well enough so all I'd like to add is that paratroopers are incredible niche units and not typically useful. The only example I can think of them being useful for is in alliance vs alliance battles.

Thanks!
