I am still pretty confused about the damage you take when you attack an enemy that is patrolling.

Patrolling do 50% damage every 15 minutes, the advantages of patrolling are:
You can attack multiple targets without refueling and therefore saving time and without running the risk of refueling and therefore putting your aircraft at risk since they are more vulnerable when refueling, the other advantage is that
planes in patrol mode will suffer less return damage from attacking units than attack mode.

I thought it was 25%. I mean it makes more sense if its 25% coz you attack 4 times while patrolling and 25%x4=100% so you deal the same damage as if you directly attacked the unit(s)

Basically, attack is for one-shot only. Patrol is for anything else.
From what I understand from the guide, it works that you get 50% attack dmg plus your defensive dmg when attacked during patrol. Also, attack is for one-shot, patrol is for long continuous dmg.(the basic of refuelling ik ok, im did read it and play with aircraft) Im just a bit confused about being attacked while on patrol if anything else is stacked on to the dmg( ik homeland bonus)

I have read most of your guides and found it helpful tbh . As most guides just list the purposes of the units and general stuff like u should put cruisers in your naval stack etc. While your guide provides what to do with what doctrine and what strategy you suggest . Itβs just this question that I donβt understand ,as in your guide you just put the difference between patrolling and attacking and when to use it and didnβt mention attacking a patrolling stack and how does the dmg adds up . So I asked , better to know more than less.

How does defensive damage stack when on patrol. The scenario is you are patrolling over your own territory and enemy attacks you. How much dmg do you do?
Is it the defensive dmg plus 50% attack dmg and 15% homeland bonus?

Planes on patrol will attack at 50% every 15 min. They will attack all units in their patrol circle. They will attack both planes, ground units and ships. The defender shoots first with his defensive stats before you get to attack. Their defense includes all terrain bonuses, and 15% core bonus. Once the defender has shot at you it's you that attacks. The damage that you deal will be spread all over the units in the patrol circle.

It was 25% in 1.0/Classic, since battle timers were one hour then, 15 minutes of patrol, 4 times would roughly be equal to a direct attack (if refueling times were not counted.)
Since battle timers are now 30 minutes, it's 50% for patrols.

What BM said, except defenders defend with 50% of their defensive AA damage when attacked by patrols, otherwise no one would patrol to deal 50% only to receive full back.
