If you want to hide units then build forts level 3 and above but if the enemy plane or units stay and scout for more than 15 minutes then the enemy will see the troops. Fortifications drastically reduce damage, meaning the lesser troops required to defend against attacks.
How exactly do fortifications work??
I have played CoW for almost a year now, but I still hiding really understand how fortifications work. All I know is that they can help you conceal units and prevent rocket attacks or something. Is there any other uses of forts that I haven’t mentioned and are there Speed Test Solitaire any tips on where to build them and stuff? Also, how many should you build, cause once I expected a naval invasion and built forts in the whole coast, like 40 provinces, and it basically used up all my resources. Now I don’t really use forts much but I feel like I’m missing out on something? Help?

Building forts can also increase morale.

The info button [i] when you are on the tech research page will tell you what your fort will do for you
You can use forts having some garrison of at least 7 troops to defend from a much larger army Once i had invaded poland from Germany and the guy had used his fortifications effectively by placing artillery tanks and much of infantries and this helped… hope this helps
I normally build fortifications in hotly contested areas vs. a strong adversary, or in the capital and perhaps one or more large cities ... Hey, I gotta go to sleep sometime! ...
The best defense is a good offense
I agree. But if you are outnumbered and outgunned- and you are waiting on reinforcements- it may be a good time for a fortification ...WascallywabbitCDN wrote:

I prefer an elastic defense than a fixed one but forts on key points would help.
A fort is a building.
This building works like a roof or walls for the units inside.
When you select the units that are inside the fort you see a number for the fort amount. Starts at 23% for a low level fort, and gets higher as you build the fort up. Lets use 25% for this example.
So In this case, 25% of the incoming attack is absorbed by the fort, and 75% of the attack is absorbed by the units inside.
The absorbed attack will result in damage to the fort building instead of damage to the units protected by the fort.
So if you have a higher level fort that offers 75% protection to the units inside, this means that the fort will absorb 75% of the attack, and units will only receive 25% of the attack.
