I am playing with a landlocked country and does anyone have tips on how to defend it
Put Forts on the border of possible threats (Players) and put infantry, anti-tank and anti-air guns too. Also possibly use Tactical Bombers to hit any enemy artillery and fighters to clear the skies as enemy artillery will smash your defenses.
the best defense is an offense. This is not only the case in real life, but it also applies to the game 
artillery is quite usefull, as are rockets ande a good airforce is a must
Lets not forget about the use of Diplomacy as a defense as well. Making allies can be worth more that a country full of fortifications
