How to disable barracks

I am struggling to keep my food production with my growing empire. and I want to disable my barracks to help with that. and i can't find any way. you help will do wonders

you can’t destroy your barracks , the only thing you can do is not produce troops

In 1.5, the version with the set of game mechanics we all are playing right now, Barracks and all other buildings do not consume resources like food. As such, there is no feature or reason to disable buildings.
