In 1.5 mode what is the best way to raise the morale of the troops?

I think you sometimes can do it with gold...otherwise just station it somewhere and don’t make it in combat and it will heal slowly.

Same as in 1.0. All land units will heal at day change if in YOUR territory, naval units will heal anywhere,a nd air units will heal if in your territory/based from your airbase.
