Yes, I guess you could look at it that way.

Though to be fair, itโs played by millions and millions more have gotten those ads and sponsorships for sure. Then again you donโt see it mentioned all too often on social media and there arenโt any major, say COW gamers. There is BM fox but his channel in only in the tens of thousands. Still niche but definitely well known Iโd say.
The problem is the majority of modern gamers don't have the patience that CoW requires. I've seen some suggestions on this Forum for games that can be completed in, say, 60 minutes. Which I definitely don't see happening anytime soon.Carking the 6th wrote:

Time is this games biggest strength and weakness. I could see a say, 144x version thatโs made for fast players being made in the future, and becoming huge, maybe even overtaking the original game speeds.
It will always be the case. You will always get people that cannot accept the game as it is and must always come up with means to make the game easier, yes there's always room for improvement but if CoW don't tickle their fancy, they're more than welcome to seek another birthBrando Dilla wrote:

I know.
144x would be a little bit too fast I guess.
I think 12x or 15x is fast enough for smaller maps.
It can go higher if you are in the NSO.

They never had it. Bytro staff just played it in the office once for fun.
I would love to have thatCarking the 6th wrote:

Yes.
It wouldn't work. CoW is too complex of a game to have it that fast - I've seen BMFox do 144x speed games - he has a very good PC and yet he still has to refresh the game every 10 minutes and it is extremely laggy. Trust me, it would not be popular because of this. CoW just isn't designed for it!
They did say that once the technology is ready they would consider itโฆ sorry to bother you so much, @freezy, but is there a possibility in a few years or so?
