Well, in a recent update they game convoys a little bit of firepower (makes no sense, I know), because ships in general could sink an unlimited number of convoys if those convoys were not protected by warships. So now convoys can cause damage to ships, and if in large numbers, sink one.Zimbrisor wrote:

Is normal for a destroyer to loose hp fighting a see convoy?

Some convoy ships in WWII were armed. With heavy-ish guns, I might add.Pablo22510 wrote:

this is insane... so i should expect that at some point an infantry to shut down a rocket? or a star-trek ship to appear? we are making this real or what?
)))
AMCs, I know. They were armed, but they didn't carry anything.Quasi-duck wrote:

I don't know what you mean by AMC, but I know for a fact that some liberty ships did in fact have guns on them.Pablo22510 wrote:

Pablo, the SS John W. Brown had a 5 inch gun on it, at one point. That is a 127mm gun.
Armed Merchant C-something. They were British merchant ships armed with guns, but they didn't carry cargo.Quasi-duck wrote:

Did it carry cargo?Quasi-duck wrote:

Ah, like some trawlers then.Pablo22510 wrote:

Maiden voyage, October 1942-March 1943
With loading complete on 14 October 1942, John W. Brown departed New York on 15 October on her maiden voyage, bound for the Persian Gulf, where she would unload her cargo for delivery overland to the Soviet Union.
Ports in the Persian Gulf were overwhelmed by the amount of cargo arriving from Allied countries, and so John W. Brown was forced to lie at anchor for a month until she could begin to unload at Abadan, Iran, where she dropped off the two P-40s and some of the tanks in late January 1943. It took another month and a half until she could enter port at Khorramshahr, Iran, and unload the rest of her cargo in March 1943.[13]
Armament:
As built:
1 × 5-inch (127-mm)/38-caliber stern gun
7 × Oerlikon 20 mm cannon in single mounts

Lots of Armed Merchant ships were used during WW2. Quite a few of them even had 3"-5" guns on them. While rather unusual in a battle against a trained naval vessel(s), it would have been possible for them to inflict damage on a surface foe.

Here is a diagram of a liberty merchant ship from that time as you can see they did indeed have armament on board. while they were not warships they were not defenseless either. If you want to destroy a convoy use subs much better results, surface ships CAN be hit back

BUT this liberty ships is a ship that can carry , but after the unload, the ship continue to exist... or in this game, the convoys exist only loadet on the see... so after disemberk, they sto to exist... so to compare a liberty ships that has many rolle with a simplu convoy for transport, is totally inapropiated....
He does have a point, @Quasi-duckZimbrisor wrote:

Not really. Just because you can't see it, doesn't mean it;s not their. I mean, do you seriously think everybody eats nothing but ears of corn? Or that tanks are purely made of metal, no glass, leather, etc? Our soldiers have no metal consumption, meaning they should consume no rounds. Does everyone beat each other to death with their guns?
Good point too.Quasi-duck wrote:

actually u again are wrong... i do not say i can not see it... the point is that after the unload, that existing or not, seeing or not, ship that remain after do not shoot... and the liberty ships, he fire with his gunn when he has tank on board and when he do not have... so the ship actualy fire, and in the game, actually the tank fire... so is no reality in here... is like u attack a carrier, and the carrier has not defense, but the planes on the carrier start to fire even if they are on the ground
)))
That doesn't make much sense.
what is not clear? do tha tank from liberty fire? NO.... do the liberty fire also without a tank on it? YES... so the ships has nothing to do with the cargo that he carry... liberty is a transportation ship... the convoys are not, cause they do not fire , the tank on it supposed oto do that.... so if we make a new unit: transportor, then yes, that unit can fire... but if we only have some little invisible ship that carry a tank, a tank that at some point can fire in a sub... then that is insane
))
I get you. Anyways, you seem to have missed the point that Liberty ships carrying cargo had 5" guns on them.Zimbrisor wrote:
