For me at least, med. tanks were a stepping stone for learning more advanced ways to succeed. Do they work? Yes. Do they work well? Ehh... There are many better options.

Somewhat fast, rapid to produce, can damage everything a bit, combined with other stuff, works for me. I really don’t like tank destroyers. Artillery is better overall anyway.

Better than what? Elaborate. What strategies?Donk2.0 wrote:

Medium tank spam, what this thread is about. ACs and planes, LT and MI, HTs... all outperform spamming medium tanks mindlessly.Carking the 6th wrote:

This is more about the uses of them and if they are overrated, nothing to do with spam… just like heavy tank spam, it can work. Like of course spamming all the counters to a unit work better than it! THINK DONK, THINK!
Well. I would argue that they are overrated due to how easy it is to counter.Carking the 6th wrote:

They have their uses, but are seen just like what you stated, even though the same could be said of all armored units.
Well, med tanks specifically are especially easy to counter, with a pretty much-dedicated unit (TD) for it. It doesn't take many of them to wreak havoc on med tank convoys. How about this, on my next match on my own, I'll try the strategy and report back here.Carking the 6th wrote:

Again, Tank destroyers vs Anti tank is the same thing, but anti tank is cheaper, and a MT can do better against it overall. Either way, you can test it yourself.
Ye Car has a point. You shud use AT over TD if the main purpose is to fight MTs. TDs are like 60% effective against MTs IMO, whilst ATs are about 75% (just for comparison's sake)
But they have significant differences in mobility. If you’re playing against active opponents, mobility matters._Pyth0n_ wrote:

Yes. If you can't get into a good defensive position, there really isn't a point to ATs. Players that are new to the game can occasionally make unexpected decisions.6thDragon wrote:

I think the big thing is that they produce fast and still move at a very similar speed to infantry. Most defensive situations they will get the job done. Any time else, you can just use AB and Arty.
I'm not saying its a bad unit, I'm just saying that it's incredibly mediocre.Carking the 6th wrote:

Anti Tank? Sure, I don’t use it lol, but it’s there if you want to damage armored units.
Mm yea AT is only good defensively. TDs are mediocre at both, slightly better at defense. I'd rather have AT since I'd have either artillery or ABs to deal with h. armour by then
