is there ANY bonus for fighting on your territory?

I had a debate recently, where i was being convinced that if a unit fights ( no matter offensively or defensively ), this unit still gets a defender bonus.

Please expand your answer. No noobs please

I would consider the movement speed an advantage. But as for just combat, no, unless you're defending a fort province.
