Is there a 'highlight net' button so can see land/sea net better to position units? Would be especially helpful positioning subs and fleets at sea.

No.
You might prefer the Ctrl (hold) method of selecting multiple units/stack. Press Ctrl, hold it, click all units/stacks to be brought to the same spot, release Ctrl, press "March" /or/ "Attack"; then destination. If you want them to arrive at the same time, click "Delay" after selecting the destination.

Yes , know that. Thanks.
Sometimes hard to see the 'sea net' and difficult to know where to place fleets to stop invasions. If route net could be made more visible would be easier.
Could help on land some too when zoomed out.

i think you are talking about a naval blockade right. this was brought up be for with it didn't get far. the idea is you take a fleet, press a button and they make a navel blockade AKA Sea Net. with this no troop friend or foe can pass with out your permission.
or when setting up a naval blockade and you want to have all areas covered, you could see all the routes in the sea by just pressing a button.

It's my understanding the "net" refers to the shading created (& which selects stacks in an map area) when one clicks/holds the right mouse button.
