yes, the sub did, they attack land unit in coastal, but deal very little damage. maybe 1 day of engagment before the sub lose and sink
land units dealing damage to subs?
Hi. I was attacking a landing army today with a sub flotilla (5 subs). I only found the army when it had about an hour to complete its landing so I understood that I would only get one or two rounds of attack in while the army was in the transports. I assumed that once the army landed that would be it - neither side could attack the other (except artillery which I assume can shell a sub). However all 5 of my subs were sunk after the army landed and the artillery involved was fairly pitiful (1 attack from 8 level 1 arty v 5 level 3 subs).
Can any land units attack subs apart from artillery?

This happened in half an hour.
if you mean that the units you were attacking were convoys, then it's quite weird that your subs died. But if you were attacking units on their way to ship into water, then their stats should've been quite good. It's also possible that marinebombers attacked you while you were away.
Land units can not see, so can not attack subs,
So the attack has to start while the land units are in transports.
If transports are fighting a sub, you have to assume that the sub is on/near the suface so can be seen.
If the troops manage to disembark, then they will still know where the sub is and the fight will continue.
yeah this is what happened - but I didn't know that land units other than artillery could damage a sub. Now I do.
