In 1.5, there is no morale penalty for being at war.
If you're in classic/1.0, there's a -5 morale penalty for each nation you're at war with for a maximum of -25, so you won't have a -50 morale penalty or anything.
Remember to declare wars before attacking so you don't end up with like 10 AI nations attacking you (until late game at least)
