Losers get better gold rewards than winners?!?

After winning a 100 player map, the losing but active/small countries received about 5-6 gold per VP. My partner (2-man coalition) received 1.5 gold per VP. We both got 3150 gold for 4430 VP

Question = What logic goes into rewarding active but tiny losing countries MORE than large winning countries?

Should I just try for solo wins going forward? This is pretty bad

I do not know how it works, but let's just say that more gold is given to those who are 3 or 5 leaders more or less, like those who have influenced the course of the game

Your response makes no sense

Ask the game operators about it!

My guess is they got more for being a solo player. I don't know the mechanics of it, though.

Coalitions have set rewards, while solo players get payout based on VP. Meaning you will always make more gold, if you aren't in a coalition.
