I just invaded Sweden. Before I attacked I did an air recon to check for enemy units. Saw nothing but infantry, anti tank and two V rockets. I attacked the rockets at Stockholm and Orebro before they could launch. Just before they arrived. A stack of 29 fighters appeared at Stockholm and 2 at Orebro. After the attack I lost 7 bombers from two waves and he lost 2 fighters. Returning to base his fighters were refueling for 10 minutes, then it was chasing me. I had another stack of bombers heading to another base to take his rocket capability from him,so I diverted it back to Stockholm. I then saw these 27 fighter on another route near the end of its range headed home 26 minutes out. Then they disappeared. I sent more bombers to Stockholm which had no defenses other than a militia unit and lost 2 more bombers. What gives?
Either he used a ton of gold, or he was keeping those fighters in allied territory or in an airbase you didn't recon. Fighters are naturally faster than bombers, so they could have refueled at Stockholm and gone to a different airbase just before your bombers arrived. I'm surprised you only lost 9 bombers in that whole thing. He could have taken out your entire air force.
Sweden is IA with no allies. I did recon on all of his bases. The fighters at Stockholm were on the ground, then in the air attacking, then refueling for 10 min, then before the refueling was finished, they are in the air, well away from their base chasing my bombers. Then, without RTB they are on a different course returning to base 26 min out. Then they simply disappear, without landing.
