Medium tank on day 2

You get a medium tank during the tutorial. This helps offset the fact that on your first game, you have little idea how the game mechanics work.

No, it was on a map I created for them to join after they completed the tutorial.

Right, but they did the initial tutorial after registering. While they were doing that, I created a map, we have about 15 players on the map I created, everyone except me is new, and only 1 of them has a medium tank. I know this because one of them asked me how this person has it but not him and we cant research it until day 8.

I've noticed that when players join a new map type, they do occasionally get the newbie setup of the medium tank
