Mini-map Graphics Update

I noticed the small "fires" on the mini-map received a bit of a graphics tweak. For me personally they are less clear than they were before. Just curious why this was done because I don't think anyone ever complained about how the little flames looked.

I am not aware of any graphics tweak there. What exactly looks different there for you? To me the flames look like they did before. But maybe I remember them wrong :D

Also maybe you can post a screenshot.

They got smaller and more orange-ish.

For me before it was bright red and much more obvious. Haven't saved any screenshots prior so I can't show ^^

i think they also added a light blue shadow thingy to all the continenets

Oh I see what it is now. On enhanced graphics the fires are the way they were before. But previous to the update they were the same on both ( can we have that back please ? lol )

And yeah I see the blue glowing edges on enhanced as well.

Uh oh... :D Well since I am only playing enhanced, I did not notice. Sadly the old graphics mode does not have priority right now since it is outdated and has even more bugs than this. We are currently rather working on low-settings modes with less effects for the enhanced version, that should make the switch to enhanced graphics easier for players on older devices.

Older devices ? Mine is only a couple of years old , she feels hurt. Anyway, jokes aside I do think enhanced is less buggy on mobile, but the old graphics makes my performance way smoother on desktop, especially if I'm playing from my work VPN or in my basement where the wifi sucks :P So I would sacrifice the sound and sharp graphics for good performance any day.

Edit : I'm not on the computer engineering side of things, so I don't know. My laptop isn't made for gaming but has 16G of RAM and a pretty new chip. Am I right in assuming that connection speed to the server is more of a limiting factor ( at least in my case ) rather than pure performance ? Just wondering. Thanks freezy my hero

Well hard to say. Also depends on your graphics card, because enhanced graphics relies a bi more on the GPU, while the old graphics rely a bit more on the CPUt. It could also be related to software or computer settings or your browser and its settings.

Of course if you are playing via wifi or VPN it also may get slower.

Hopefully it will get better for you once we roll out lower graphics modes.
