Morality Issue In Game?

This is a question I have been thinking for a long time.

1. How much affected are you, morally in your decisions in game?

2. Are you able to stomach treachery, perfidy and backstabbing?

3. Is your moral compas is as strong as your playing style?

4. Have you made a decision that betray your moral code? Have you regretted it?

This question is not meant for insults and all those philosophical arguments. This is just a question whether or not would you follow your IRL morals or are you a different beast in game?

Spying is just a game mechanism; it's perfectly OK with me. It is like asking if I have an issue with nuking a huge city: I don't in-game, but would at least hesitate a few seconds to press the button in real life :)

The other options are more at the PvP level, and more about what you actually mean, I think... I don't mind a bit of manipulation, betraying and backstabbing are right out except in some very, very special cases.

Honestly, if i see someone as untrustworthy i'll get a few allies that i can trust to help parition them. Depending on the relation with the person i could feel some regret invading them. I've made so many decisions that betray my moral code that i honestly wonder if it's just something i enjoy, backstabbing allies for my own benefit.

Quite a lot, I would say.

No, absolutely not.

No, I don't think as strong. I don't think people notice my moral compass before my playing style.

I once accidentally posted about kicking a player from my coalition IN THE COALITION CHAT. He got mad, and umm, I apologized, (though I couldn't get myself to play for a day), and he forgave me. I didn't really regret it though.

Depends.

2. Are you able to stomach treachery, perfidy and backstabbing?

Depends on the methods used...if it's something like mental/emotional warfare, i can't... I- i just can't.

3. Is your moral compass is as strong as your playing style?

Depending on the player...The more i get to know them, the harder it hits me when i inevitably have to attack them...

4. Have you made a decision that betray your moral code? Have you regretted it?

Yes, i've betrayed my moral code before...I've had to wage mental warfare, only to be torn in two forced to choose between my two best allies. ...

to answer

1: not much, i think if they are your friend you have to help, if they are enemy you have to treat them so, if the enemy is helping you there is no need to harbour ill-will against them, if your 'friend' betrays you in a serious situation then treat them as an enemy. nothing special

2: yes, if i think they did a logical thing, i'd say thanks and leave. if i think, however that they did plain stupidity i'd stay and show them their mistakes.

3: the moral compass is not as strong as my pragmatism and logic, but will always opt for a diplomatic method if the military method is unnecessary (unknown be like: wth!?)

4: i barely break my moral code in this game except that one time where i backstabbed germany as italy because he called me idiott and yelled spammed me.

I usually manipulate people by accident smh

Stupidity at its finest, but its still hasn't reached its final form

yeah, yeah, "by accident", suuuuure!

I tend not to share maps outside of the coalition. If you don't share maps with the half of the map then the chances of getting backstabbed are reduced. I like to play with a certain honour, If I have shared maps then I'll notify the player 24 hours before I attack and un-share maps. For me a coalition has a meaning, you support each other, you help your team mates.

Ok, seems like BMFox has a sense of honor, unlike me

I think the closest thing to backstabbing that I regularly do is attack people who message me asking to be allies. I feel a bit bad, since they're new in most cases, but hey, this is called Call of War, not Call of Friendship.

true. But i still never betray. Once this guy placed 300 units in my core, i didnt attack him tho or betray or even spy. He actually got a bit ashamed when he saw that and withdrew.

This other time i launched an attack against a country which had FORCED me to join their coa (so i didnt betray) and i lost, but they said they understood y i attacked and we won the game together

cant help it, sometimes its feel too fun to see two former allies try to kill each other and start to attack when both are dying

Stupidity at its finest, but its still hasn't reached its final form

Yeah, I do this too, especially when they send a "share map" offer without even bothering to speak a word. I accept it and cancel my end of it immediately. They often don't notice this for DAYS. Whether I follow up with an actual attack depends on the situation.

People who share maps should at LEAST be on speaking terms with each other; this is my way to teach them.

what does perfidy mean
