I am liking this so far. Still need somewhere to get info on how terran matters in this game which is exciting to me and how defence vs offence works. Not the numbers but the basics etc.

You've found the information in the unit tooltip, I guess?
What you find there are the effects on speed, hitpoints (aka armor) and strength.
Strength always affects both attack and defensive values.
Strength values in general read as: "Hitpoint damage per hour".
What information are you missing? As the game has some complex concepts we want to make sure they can be understood by new players.
It would be nice to know how naval transport or province morale effects different unit morales
The morale in CoW is "condition", which only suffers in one of these cases:
- battle damage
- upkeep resource shortage
- forced march
Condition is not influenced by the province morale or terrain.
Condition automatically recovers, iff
- a land unit is stationed in a province owned by the same player
- or the unit is a ship (independent of position)
