More playable country

The combined Romania-Hungary is playable on the 22-player European map, but it is called "Greater Romania," if memory serves. Austria is just lebensraum for its larger neighbors in COW; if you want a playable Austria, try Supremacy 1914, COW's World War I sister strategy game.

problem is: Greater Romania has never been. Austya-Hungary, or Greater Hungary was real.

You will have to take that choice up with the game developers. The obvious intent was to create a playable country of comparable size to Britain, France, Germany, the Soviet Union, Spain, Turkey, and the United States. On the 22-player European map, the developers also cut the eastern third of the United States in half, and the Soviet Union into four full-sized countries and a couple of smaller ones, in order to create countries of a relatively standard size.

What about Austria Hungary? as a mixed-up Nation like Greater Romania on the Europe 22 Player Map.
